Hello sister, goodbye life!

Hehe, sebenarnya yang panjang- panjang muqaddimah ni sebab saya nak bawa anda relax~ saya nak kongsi cerita yang saya tonton- Hello Sister, good Bye life, kan saya cakap, saya suka tengok TV, sementara cuti, cerita – cerita Family dekat Hallmark channel memang menghilangkan boring~

Bayangkan anda disuruh menjaga seorang kanak- kanak berusia 7 tahun, dalam masa yang sama anda adalah seorang pelajar, em, tanpa orang gaji, tanpa pembantu, agak- agak boleh tak?

Sinopsis

Olivia Martin (Chabert) is a college student who has very few responsibilities in life. Oh she has to put up with her kookie mother, Barbara (Wendy Malick) but she rarely has to spend time with her father and his new family. Olivia and her father are not estranged but are close to it. She resents him for leaving her mother, and she also resents his new wife and their daughter Celia (Sammi Hanratty).

When Olivia's father and his wife are killed in an accident she is shocked to learn he has left Celia in her care. At first Olivia refuses to even consider this responsibility, but eventually her father's attorney convinces her to try it. Olivia becomes mother to her half sister and that's where the fun begins.

If this were a typical story about a forced relationship of this type Celia would be an impossible little brat - but she isn't. She comes across as a very sweet little girl who has been through a very traumatic experience. You might also expect Olivia to be a complete flake, not knowing the first thing about caring for a seven-year-old girl - but she isn't. She is in over her head, for sure; but she makes a valid effort to provide for Celia's needs both emotional and physical.

The fact that the characters don't act as you expect them to is what makes "Hello Sister, Goodbye Life!" a better than average viewing experience. That and the fact Chabert is so pleasing on the eyes and has grown so much as an actress. She is the heart and soul of the movie and she fulfills all your expectations.

Malick is good as the immature Barbara, who eventually rises to the occasion. She and Chabert make their characters a real odd couple mother/daughter. Hanratty shows sass and warmth as Celia.
